I used basicGrey brads for the photo corners and the sentiment is the circle with the bird stamped in the middle and covered with crystal effects.

The wonderful news was announced today...I am excited!!! Why you ask? welllll I am now a ROYAL STAMPING MAID for Queen Kat Designs!!!!!! Wow right?? I definitely feel honored to be picked!! This is my first DT position ever and I am very happy about it!!

This is my card...I used the last quote and those chapters in New Moon where she went to save Edward in Volterra as Inspiration. I used Unity's Grandfather clock stamp and used the spotlight technique and stamped onto a yellow cs and punched the face of the clock and punched it out and layered it onto the image. I wrote Palazzo dei Priori along the side.

HHH and Heros....

Good Morning! Glad you could make it here.

With Memorial Day coming up Yesterday's Hip Hop for Unity they chose Heros as the theme, each DT member talked about their Heros...there was amazing stories from everyone.

For the customers who chose to post Hip hop hangover posts on friday mornings we also decided to post a Hero post and talk about OUR heros too.

I couldnt think of any one Hero there are so many people I admire, All the Men and Woman in the Military, Barack Obama, JFK, Martin Luther King, Angelina Joile, Maya Angelou, Mother Theresa...etc...

But the unsung heros who everyday make me in awe are All the Women out there... Mothers, Sisters, Daughters, Friends, Wives, Grandmothers, Aunts....

I am humbled everyday by what different woman all over the world do to make their lives better and their childrens lives better and the lives of others better. Our ability to Love, to be kind, to care for each other, to be there when needed...

All woman out there YOU are my HERO...I appreciate what YOU do to make this world a better place and for being there for us all! THANK YOU!

TTIC#32 The Great Northwest!!!

This weeks Twilight Tuesday's Inspiration challenge comes from the beautiful EVE and it is to find inspiration from the "The Great Northwest"!!

"The challenge for this week’s Tuesday is “The Great Northwest.”

If you have ever lived there you know what I mean. Maybe if you have only visited there you know what I mean. Maybe if you only heard about the filming of the movie you know what I mean. It is beautiful there. There is a reason for it’s beauty….all the rain!

So from the space needle to the forests. From the rain to the trees. From the lush green beauty of it all to the Olympic Peninsula. There are so many reasons to LOVE the great Northwest.

Edward’s family chooses to live there. Bella feels she has to live there, and hated visiting as a child. Don’t forget the trips to Seattle, the coast, and into the forest. Have fun with this one!

Here are a few photos I chose as inspiration because I can think of the forests and the green as Bella drove into Forks WA in the book. What a beautiful place! I have always wanted to visit Seattle, truthfully it started because of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, the Seattle grunge scene, NOW I want to go to Forks, seattle, La Push because of Twilight!! I want to see the HUGE trees, the beaches, the Space Needle, I want to visit soooo bad!

Here is my card...

I took the warm greens, and browns to capture the forests of the Pacific Northwest, This dp from My Minds Eye was a perfect fit, even some orange and pink for a bit of the rustic colors reminicent of the fallen tree branches, little flowers growing, etc. I used this great stamp from Unity called Deep Woods, fitting huh? :)

I have been really liking the look of these stacked layers so that what I did. I stamped this image onto brown dp from BasicGrey in Chocolate chip in front, stamped off a bit higher and then versamark for the tips of the trees, this panel is layered onto light green dp, the main panel is green from Eva BasicGrey pack I stamped Old Olive in the front and a bit of chocolate chip ink, then stamped in kiwi kiss a higher up, then versamark for the top layer of trees. This panel is layered onto chocolate chip cs and whisper white cs to pop it out a bit. The sentiment is from Simly said Unity set.

TTSVC2 Fangtasia!!!!

Howdy!! Thanks to all the amazing comments this weekend for my post for the Unity KOM blog hop!! I loved all the magnificent creations made for this weekend!!

It has been a busy weekend and I look forward to this week for quiet time! :)

Today the sookie stackhouse challenge #2 was posted on Twilight tuesday!!

Craft Portion: Create a project that screams “Fangtasia,“!

Comment Portion: Would you go there? What would you expect to see there? Let your imagination run wild! This is Fangtasia we are talking about here!

I looked through book 1 Dead until Dark and picked key descriptions of Fangtasia.... red Jazzy neon sign, facade steel colored, red door, interior of the same red, grey colors, framed pictures of all the famous vampire actors on the walls, dim lighting, people wearing black.

Another thing was Bill called Sookie "a white candle in a coal mine" She was the one who stood out, and when Eric's obsession began with sookie, monumental time I would say!

I picked the colors of grey, red, black and some white, just a bit. It looks a bit like a sign to me, it says "Love is Toxic" Fitting I think!! The corner stamp is from the May KOTM from Unity stamps.

I would totally go there, I have been a closet goth since high school but with manners! Not like the fang bangers!! Call me crazy but i would be the one in there waiting for a vamp to approach me!! hehe! I would expect a lot of different people and vamps, I would love to see the ornate glasses they might use, maybe some absinthe served I am sure, in these times that is the drink of the wanna-be's!

LOOK at this card, SPEECHLESS I WAS!!!! Speaking of twilight tuesday the AMAZING Tonya sent me this gorgeous card and some stamped Gorjuss girls!!! How did she know is what I want to know, these girls are so high on my want list it isnt even funny!!!! I fell hard for these stamps! it is SO COOL she did that for me!! I love you GF!!!!! You ARE THE BEST!!! You made my MONTH!!! So what did I do when I got this...when the screaming stopped....I colored a couple right away, what fun!! So here they are! I just started learning how to use copics so these are in no way perfect but i think they turned out cute!

I used copics, black sharpie and copic colorless blender. oh these girls steal my heart!

I paper pieced the flower for the hat with more mustard dp. layered on gray and then chocolate chip. ribbon technique is just sticky strip and twisting and mushing the ribbon onto it. secured with a rhinestone brad.

TTIC#31!!! Graduation!!

Hello everyone!! It is spring now and the talk is centered around up coming graduation parties!! I dont have anyone I know graduating right now, my cousins are all older and my children arent that old yet!

The Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge this week is from Rebecca! Thanks rebecca!!! This is a great challenge!!!

"One of my most favorite scenes in the movie occurs when Edward is showing his home to Bella for the first time. As they go up the stairs, they pass a huge frame full of graduation caps.
Bella asks “Graduation caps?” and Edward replies “Private joke. We matriculate a lot“.

I loved that part of the movie too!! That cute smile he gives and turns his head....love it!

Craft portion: Create a project suitable to give as a graduation gift!

Comment portion: Reminisce about your graduation … or an upcoming graduation for someone in your life.

I never graduated high school but i did go to my cousins graduation in 1999 and that was pretty neat!

I decided to keep my focus on Bella and Edwards Graduation! Obviously they had other things on their minds at the time but the party was a memorable time and the Yellow gowns...ewww! I would look horrible in that color too! :) I believe Beth is the one who said the Forks colors are Blue and Gold so I used those colors with black thrown in for fun for my projects! Thanks Beth for your wonderful research!!!!

Since Bella loves Edward's music and it is something they share that they like that is his gift to her for Graduation! and a card to go with it! So I decorated a CD case and made a coordinating card!

I made the pattern with the flourish stamp from Unity's Birdie Inspiration set, I used Pacific Point, Basic Black and More Mustard ink and stamped onto a panel of Whisper white cs that I "aged" with more mustard and river rock ink for a vintage gold look. The sentiment is "Life is a dream realize it" from the same set. I added my new fav ribbon technique and layered all onto shiny blue cs, black cs and then onto a WW card base.

TTSVC1 First Sookie challenge on TT!!

Twilight tuesday started A sookie Stackhouse challenge last month in April for all the lovers of Charlaine Harris' vampire series! I have read one and two of the series so far and I really like them! This challenge was originally posted in April and I am finally doing this one now! I had just heard about sookie but didnt read them yet!

The inspiration is the First book of the series Dead Until Dark.

I liked this book! the characters are interesting, I would have to say the first things that come to mind is Sookies blue eyes and blond hair, also her work outfit which is White T, black shorts, white socks and black nikes, she spends ALOT of time there so she is always wearing this outfit!

SO I used that as inspiration for the color scheme, black, white and a touch of pacific point blue. I also used the birdie inspiration set from unity because when Bill the vampire comes around he can hover and that is like flying like a bird!

here is my card, I used black patterned paper from Margie, then I layered good morning sunshine dp then black dp then the stamped panel on white. I added ribbon reminded me of blond hair. the bird is also from the same stamp set and covered in crystal effects.

I always love the sketch challenges for TwilightTuesday.com, well let me say I LOVE ALL the challenges!!!!



Dani's sketch this week is amazing, SO many options to use this for, SB pages, digi pages, cards like mine, geez just about anything!!! Use your imagination!! You have 2 more weeks to enter a sketch challenge project in still!
Here is my take on the challenge

I used Unity stamps and scrap dp from BasicGrey and the outside stars I believe I got these from sf9erfan Michelle from a blog candy win a while back so THANKS michelle, fellow Twifriend!!!
The sentiment says "Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to LOVE and to WORK and to PLAY and to look up at the STARS"
This applies to Twilight to me, so much of Edwards energy is spent to keep Bella alive that he sometimes to me gets lost in that and doesnt let himself enjoy Bella being human either, and Bella is in such a hurry to be a vamp that she doesnt stop to enjoy things either!!! So i chose to use this on a card maybe it would be a plaque on their wall!!! the middle star is a unity stamp stamped onto more boxer dp from basicgrey and I added crystal effects to the top to shine.
I just love this line of paper, I love the rich reds that SCREAM twilight!!!

GORGEOUS prints, beautiful fairies, animals and the Castle is to die for!! What child wouldn't want one in their room!!! cool skateboarding boys and girls, this woman is TALENTED!!!

Here is the beautiful print I chose to get inspiration from!! She is so pretty! reminds me of my beautiful Morgan!

Here is my card...LOTS of pink, I love this sentiment!!

I could of added some gold bling but I decided to keep it real simple. I used alternating colors of pink and grey in SU patterned paper and Used Birdie inspiration Unity Stamp set! I thought the sentiment fit perfectly! The ribbon is a technique my SU demo taught me, it is a strip of red sticky strip across the whole width of the card and the ribbon is twisted and mooshed onto the tape, I think this is an awesome effect!!! Love this technique!! layers and more layers going on with this card!

TTIC #30, Ballet studio scene

Dani gave us the challenge this week on Twilight Tuesday to make something inspired by the Ballet studio scene in the twilight book and movie. Very much a challenge.... took me a while to get going, but it helped that the TT team gave a bunch of awesome samples!!

This is challenge #30! congrats ladies thats a lot of challenges and hard work!!

Craft Portion: Create a project that shows your favorite part(s) of the Ballet Studio Scene.

Comment Portion: How do you feel about this scene from Twilight. Was it not scary enough? Do you think Edward made the right decision to keep Bella from turning?

So I have to say MY favorite thing about this scene in the movie is the backgound song, let me sign... I love roberts vocals, his voice is mesmerizing and haunts me. so that combined with the flashbacks in the movie was an awesome addition to Twilight and this scene. If bella would of turned then there would of been SO much missed in the future, sure Bella would of been happy but Edward would be sulky and blame himself still and it would be hard to look past that without a way for Edward to "take away" this part of her life. and think of what we the readers would of missed in future books. I dont feel the scene was very scary and little things bug me between the book and script.

I had the song playing back to back for a long time getting the feelings before I made this card... could never love it any less!
SO my card is a tribute to that.

I also went through this chapter again and picked the colors that were mentioned in Twilight, the yellow of the sun as she ran to the studio- so saffron, the dark of the room-Basic Gray, the hot pink sign on the door-pretty in pink, the blue of the TV when the video was shut off- ballet blue and red for the blood that was spilled-riding hood red.

I used rhinestones to be the mirror broken in pieces along the side of my card. I wrote in pen let me sign on the pink panel and the sentiment below says I love you. There was a huge amount of love involved in that scene for Edward to do what he did....

The white panel is stamped with argyle heart in riding hood red and distressed with basic black ink and sponged with more red.

Saturday fun!!

well technically it is Sunday now but my saturday was great!

Today was clean up day so my basement is clean and garbage gone! Then I planted all my beautiful veggies in the garden! I feel like a mom to my gardens! Nurturing and love all the little sprouts! All organic Carrots, cucs, lettuce, peas, green beans, tomatoes, jalapenos, sweet peppers, broccoli, strawberries and pumpkins! yummy yummy!

After all that hARD work we treated ourselves to dinner out and a movie, X-men Origins: Wolverine!! Loved it!! great movie!! the kids liked it too!

Fun stuff this weekend over at the Unity forum on SCS!! May Guest designer challenge was this saturday, post was up May 1st and deadline ended at 7pm tonight! I cant wait to see who they choose as GDT!! SO many great entries!!! Love them all! good luck to all! Your are all my friends and I wish everyone the best!

Busy busy week!! here is my EtsyInspired challenge week 33 card!! Opalescence is the store this week! Carole made a great recommendation, this is a great store with great yarn! such beautiful inspiration!

Here is my card, I was inspired by the colors. I dyed a piece of hemp twine with many ink colors and tied it in a bow around the dress form. The paper calls out with the blues, browns, yellows and greens! Pink was a dominant color in the yarn so that is my card base.
