Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #44!

Itssssss Tuesdayyyyy!!! YAY! Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge this week is brought to you from the talented and wonderfully sweet Rebecca!

"Reading the Twilight saga books and is what brought us all together .... so this week is really dedicated to books. I hadn't stayed up all night reading anything in a very long time, yet that was exactly what I did with the books - I couldn't put them down! Many of you have shared similar stories with me on that topic. Each of the books have their own sub-theme throughout the series.

Wuthering Heights is discussed many times in Eclipse, in fact - bookstores have been reporting that their sales of Wuthering Heights were through the roof after Eclipse came out.

Each book in the series was inspired by and loosely based on a different literary classic: Twilight on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
New Moon on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet,
Eclipse on Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights
and Breaking Dawn on a second Shakespeare play, A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Meyer also states that Orson Scott Card and L. M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series are a big influence on her writing. (quote from Meridian Magazine: http://www.meridianmagazine.com/books/0 ... mpire.html)Bella discusses some her books (this is from Twilight)

"I had a small collection of books that came with me to Forks, the shabbiest volume being a compilation of the works of Jane Austen. Outside in Charlies small, square yard, I folded the guilt in half and laid it out of the reach of trees' shadow on the thick lawn that would always be slightly wet, no matter how long the sun shone. I lay on my stomach, crossing my ankles in the air, flipping through the different novels in the book, trying to decide which would occupy my mind the most thoroughly. My favorites were Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility. "

Craft Challenge: Make any project that celebrates your favorite book! It can be a project about a book, for a book, inspired by a book title or cover.

Comment Challenge: Which novel would you put in Bella's hands (classic or contemporary) for her to read? Did Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse or Breaking Dawn inspire you to read (or re-read) any of the classics? Do you compare Edware and Bella to that of Wuthering Heights Heathcliff and Cathy?

I chose Interview with a Vampire, the first book I read about vampires. I loved how it is set in 1791 in Louisiana, I love New Orleans during this time. I went for the romantic feeling to the setting, the colors, the people and everything. Louis and Lestat were always dressed in the best clothes for their times. I decided on a color palette of deep reds, greens, cream, silver and brown.
Stamps Used: June, August KOM-Unity Stamp Company
Paper Used: Ripe Avocado, Dark chocolate, scarlett jewel-PTI, Sultry-BasicGrey
Ink Used: Scarlett jewel-PTI, more mustard, river rock-SU
Accessories Used: scarlett jewel stitched ribbon-PTI, silver ribbon, sticky tape

I have read wuthering heights and I loved it before Twilight was even a twinkle in SM's dreams. I can see the comparison between all the characters.
I would put Gone with the wind in Bella's hands to read.

Go Check out My favorite ladies ever!!!

TTSVC3 Team Bill or Team Eric!

Its Twilight Tuesday Sookie Stackhouse challenge day!! once a month we have a Sookie Challenge! This month it is all about Bill and Eric, Which team are you on?

"Welcome back to Twilight Tuesday Sookie/Vampire Challenge! After a break last month, we are raring to go – especially after the last few episodes of True Blood! This month, we are seeking your opinions and your creative genius to demonstrate which “team” you are on… Having mentioned TB, I have to remind you that this is the book series challenge – not the HBO show! SO – does Bill’s cool, calm Southern gentleman demeanor chill your jangled nerves, or does Eric’s magnetic, powerful aura flick your Bic… Tell us about it, and be sure to link your projects back here!"

Here is my card! I am for now a Team Bill girl, I have read up until book 3, (i know, i know) My birthday came and gone and I didnt get the box set...but I have the last book thanks to Margie :D
I love a love story with angst, Sookie really gives Bill a hard time it can be too much but the fact that he still loves her (or thirsts for her which ever one you prefer) is endearing to me and that makes me like him! So on that note I chose to make some Tru Blood drink! nice and warm O positive like Bill likes it ;) Coffee cup, he is really mainstreaming now! LOL The sentiment says "Your just my Type" perfect huh! I chose some "manly" colors, deep reds, blues, brown and green. The brads kinda look silver but trust me I wouldnt put Bill in harms way, they are brushed nickel kind, promise!

Stamps Used: Digital Girl (sentiment)-My Favorite things, Cyber Girl (coffee cup)- Hanna Stamps, Fictionally yours (fangs)- Artful INKables
Paper Used: Dark chocolate, ripe avacado, scarlett jewel-PTI, Marrakech, recess- BasicGrey
Ink Used: Versafine onyx black
Accessories Used: Brads, white gel pen, colored pencils
I hope you play along! Super fun!
Thanks for stopping by!!

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #43 A love Song

Hey All I am back! I know you all are missing me...can you believe it has almost been a whole week since I blogged last?? Wow, I am sorry!

Its Twilight Tuesday!!!! YAY!!! Arent you excited?? I AM!!

So this week is a doosie as I like to call it! Beth has made us all put on our thinking caps this week!!! I will let her tell you about it!
"TTIC43 ~ A Love Song for Edward and Bella

I love music! I relate just about everything I hear in songs to something. I just breathe it in – I FEEL it!
So my challenge is going to draw on that.

I challenge you to think about the Saga as a whole, and then to decide in retrospect, what Edward and Bella’s song should be.

It can be a song about a particular part of their relationship, or their journey as a whole. Be prepared to explain!! This IS a variation of a prior challenge, so I ask that you try and go in a different direction if you participated previously! This will take some thought before project ideas even come into play – I better go start studying my iPod now…

Challenge Portion: Choose a song. Explain why it should be theirs. Share lyrics that are particularly poignant, if you can. Create a project scrapbook layout around this song.
Comment Portion: Do you have a theme song? One that seems to have been written *just* for you? Do tell! You can go as fun or profound as you are comfortable with – it is all good!"
I had a pretty tough time narrowing down my selections...there are SO many songs out there about love and that fit for Bella and Edward... I almost went the classical route, listen to some 80's power ballads, 90's angsty...I have a few on my music player right here on my blog. I finally settled on a newer song by the now broken up Danity Kane...Stay with me. If you stay here long enough you will hear the next song that was a close second. Stay by Shakespear's Sister.
SO since beautiful Beth made us do a scrapbook page...um thanks dear! ;) I did an 8x8 layout. I dont have a printer that works so I made due with stamps, paper and some fun embellies!
My base is scarlett jewel cardstock from papertrey Ink. I layered all sorts of awesome basicGrey dp and colored my Untamed Gorjuss Girl with markers and pencils. If you look real close you can see the shimmerz blingz i added to her dress, boots and flower in her hair. The word "stay" is chipboard letters i painted over with Tim Holtz Distress crackle paint in scattered straw. I added a bit of ink after they crackled and added a button so you knew it was an A! The button was in a pack of buttons for Twilight from Walmart! yay!
My layout is based loosely on the TTSC#9 for this week!
My best friend in the whole wide word gave me some great advice and I love her for it!
Stamps Used: "Untamed" Gorjuss Girl, Just my type Alpha, sentiment-Unity Stamp Company
Paper Used: Scralett Jewel-PTI, Recess, lemonade-BasicGrey

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #42!!

Hi!! Welcome to Tuesday! :)

Today's Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge was given to us by the lovely Erica, guest designer filling in for Margie this month! It is a AWESOME challenge!!
***Spoiler Alert, if you have not read breaking dawn proceed with caution***

"Breaking Dawn is my favorite book of the series, like many of you, so I was really trying to think about what I loved about the 4th book. Of course I love the romance, but that is throughout the whole series. One thing that I love about Breaking Dawn is how SM really looks into Jacob, especially his relationship with his new pack, especially Leah.

“It would be interesting, at the very least, and strange, too, to have Leah as a companion – as a friend. We were going to get under each other’s skin a lot, that was for sure. She wouldn’t be one to let me wallow, but I thought that was a good thing. I’d probably need someone to kick my butt now and then. But when it came right down to it, she was really the only friend who had any chance of understanding what I was going through now.” Breaking Dawn, Book 2 pg. 336

For the craft portion: Make a project using at least 2 items that you wouldn’t think normally go together. Whether it be two colors, or two different patterns or something elegant and rough, it is up to you. As far as the subject, have fun with it. Celebrate one of your unlikely friendships or an unlikely friendship in the Twilight Saga.

For the comment portion: Do you have an unlkely friendship? What makes you different but what unites you at the same time?

Here is my card. I used My edward stamp from The Greeting Farm and My wolf stamp from Artful INKables. I think I Finally got the goo be gone and colored pencils technique!! I added colored pencils to my image first THEN used a qtip without the cotton and dipped it in the goo be gone then blended that onto the colored pencil!! Yay! I feel so proud of myself :) I will keep working with it because it is SO fun!! Edward and Jake DO NOT get along at all until Breaking Dawn, even mortal enemies can be friends, maybe if everyone reads Twilight we can have world peace! Most of the friends I have had and the ones I have now have something in common so I cant say I have had an unlikely friendships.

Stamps Used: Into the Moonlight- Artful INKables, Edward-Wild Sprout-The Greeting farm, My Vampire...-Unity Stamp Company
Papers Used: White, dark chocolate-PTI, June bug, recess-BasicGrey
Ink Used: Versafine onyx black, more mustard, river rock and creamy caramel SU for distressing
Accessories used: Brads, colored pencils- art studio, goo be gone, Qtip

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #41!

Welcome one and all to another Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge!!! I LOVE tuesdays, can ya tell?? ;)
This week the lovely Eve has given us our challenge for the week and honestly it stumped me...I can express my feelings on this subject on words but had to translate into a card!

Our challenge from Eve...
"It’s complicated….we all know that. I mean really could you choose? Well for some of us it is easy {Edward for me!} However, for Bella it is a little more difficult. Jacob fills that void {or hole} while Edward is gone. And does a pretty good job at it. It is complicated and for sure- a love triangle at it’s best. Is Jacob more of a brother type figure? Or do you see Bella falling into love with Jacob while Edward is gone? There are so many angles to this triangle…….."
Here is my card, I used red paper for Edward and bright yellow for jacob, he was Bella's sun after all... I ripped the edges because the decisions were hard all around and how can you not feel torn after all those feelings Bella was dealing with... This is Untamed gorjuss girl, she is a bit messy a bit frazzeled if you will...like Bella was. I colored her with copics. The stamp is from Artful INKables. The decision would of been completely easy for me, Edward all the way! :) Kissing wolves is Dangerous, right??!

Stamps Used: Fictionally yours-Artful INKables, Untamed-gorjuss girl-Sugar nellie
Paper Used: White PTI, june bug-basicGrey
Ink Used: Versafine onyx black
Accessories Used: Copics

For craft challenge:
Make a card {or other item} that represents the love triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
For comment challenge:
What do you feel were some of the down falls of this love triangle? What do you feel were some of the high points?

Please join in and play along with us! If you do, here are a few guidelines to follow:
