TTIC#31!!! Graduation!!

Hello everyone!! It is spring now and the talk is centered around up coming graduation parties!! I dont have anyone I know graduating right now, my cousins are all older and my children arent that old yet!

The Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge this week is from Rebecca! Thanks rebecca!!! This is a great challenge!!!

"One of my most favorite scenes in the movie occurs when Edward is showing his home to Bella for the first time. As they go up the stairs, they pass a huge frame full of graduation caps.
Bella asks “Graduation caps?” and Edward replies “Private joke. We matriculate a lot“.

I loved that part of the movie too!! That cute smile he gives and turns his head....love it!

Craft portion: Create a project suitable to give as a graduation gift!

Comment portion: Reminisce about your graduation … or an upcoming graduation for someone in your life.

I never graduated high school but i did go to my cousins graduation in 1999 and that was pretty neat!

I decided to keep my focus on Bella and Edwards Graduation! Obviously they had other things on their minds at the time but the party was a memorable time and the Yellow gowns...ewww! I would look horrible in that color too! :) I believe Beth is the one who said the Forks colors are Blue and Gold so I used those colors with black thrown in for fun for my projects! Thanks Beth for your wonderful research!!!!

Since Bella loves Edward's music and it is something they share that they like that is his gift to her for Graduation! and a card to go with it! So I decorated a CD case and made a coordinating card!

I made the pattern with the flourish stamp from Unity's Birdie Inspiration set, I used Pacific Point, Basic Black and More Mustard ink and stamped onto a panel of Whisper white cs that I "aged" with more mustard and river rock ink for a vintage gold look. The sentiment is "Life is a dream realize it" from the same set. I added my new fav ribbon technique and layered all onto shiny blue cs, black cs and then onto a WW card base.

TTSVC1 First Sookie challenge on TT!!

Twilight tuesday started A sookie Stackhouse challenge last month in April for all the lovers of Charlaine Harris' vampire series! I have read one and two of the series so far and I really like them! This challenge was originally posted in April and I am finally doing this one now! I had just heard about sookie but didnt read them yet!

The inspiration is the First book of the series Dead Until Dark.

I liked this book! the characters are interesting, I would have to say the first things that come to mind is Sookies blue eyes and blond hair, also her work outfit which is White T, black shorts, white socks and black nikes, she spends ALOT of time there so she is always wearing this outfit!

SO I used that as inspiration for the color scheme, black, white and a touch of pacific point blue. I also used the birdie inspiration set from unity because when Bill the vampire comes around he can hover and that is like flying like a bird!

here is my card, I used black patterned paper from Margie, then I layered good morning sunshine dp then black dp then the stamped panel on white. I added ribbon reminded me of blond hair. the bird is also from the same stamp set and covered in crystal effects.

Hope everyone had the best Mothers day ever!!!

I always love the sketch challenges for TwilightTuesday.com, well let me say I LOVE ALL the challenges!!!!



Dani's sketch this week is amazing, SO many options to use this for, SB pages, digi pages, cards like mine, geez just about anything!!! Use your imagination!! You have 2 more weeks to enter a sketch challenge project in still!
Here is my take on the challenge

I used Unity stamps and scrap dp from BasicGrey and the outside stars I believe I got these from sf9erfan Michelle from a blog candy win a while back so THANKS michelle, fellow Twifriend!!!
The sentiment says "Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to LOVE and to WORK and to PLAY and to look up at the STARS"
This applies to Twilight to me, so much of Edwards energy is spent to keep Bella alive that he sometimes to me gets lost in that and doesnt let himself enjoy Bella being human either, and Bella is in such a hurry to be a vamp that she doesnt stop to enjoy things either!!! So i chose to use this on a card maybe it would be a plaque on their wall!!! the middle star is a unity stamp stamped onto more boxer dp from basicgrey and I added crystal effects to the top to shine.
I just love this line of paper, I love the rich reds that SCREAM twilight!!!

Here is my card...LOTS of pink, I love this sentiment!!

I could of added some gold bling but I decided to keep it real simple. I used alternating colors of pink and grey in SU patterned paper and Used Birdie inspiration Unity Stamp set! I thought the sentiment fit perfectly! The ribbon is a technique my SU demo taught me, it is a strip of red sticky strip across the whole width of the card and the ribbon is twisted and mooshed onto the tape, I think this is an awesome effect!!! Love this technique!! layers and more layers going on with this card!

TTIC #30, Ballet studio scene

Dani gave us the challenge this week on Twilight Tuesday to make something inspired by the Ballet studio scene in the twilight book and movie. Very much a challenge.... took me a while to get going, but it helped that the TT team gave a bunch of awesome samples!!

This is challenge #30! congrats ladies thats a lot of challenges and hard work!!

Craft Portion: Create a project that shows your favorite part(s) of the Ballet Studio Scene.

Comment Portion: How do you feel about this scene from Twilight. Was it not scary enough? Do you think Edward made the right decision to keep Bella from turning?

So I have to say MY favorite thing about this scene in the movie is the backgound song, let me sign... I love roberts vocals, his voice is mesmerizing and haunts me. so that combined with the flashbacks in the movie was an awesome addition to Twilight and this scene. If bella would of turned then there would of been SO much missed in the future, sure Bella would of been happy but Edward would be sulky and blame himself still and it would be hard to look past that without a way for Edward to "take away" this part of her life. and think of what we the readers would of missed in future books. I dont feel the scene was very scary and little things bug me between the book and script.

I had the song playing back to back for a long time getting the feelings before I made this card... could never love it any less!
SO my card is a tribute to that.

I also went through this chapter again and picked the colors that were mentioned in Twilight, the yellow of the sun as she ran to the studio- so saffron, the dark of the room-Basic Gray, the hot pink sign on the door-pretty in pink, the blue of the TV when the video was shut off- ballet blue and red for the blood that was spilled-riding hood red.

I used rhinestones to be the mirror broken in pieces along the side of my card. I wrote in pen let me sign on the pink panel and the sentiment below says I love you. There was a huge amount of love involved in that scene for Edward to do what he did....

The white panel is stamped with argyle heart in riding hood red and distressed with basic black ink and sponged with more red.

Saturday fun!!

well technically it is Sunday now but my saturday was great!

Today was clean up day so my basement is clean and garbage gone! Then I planted all my beautiful veggies in the garden! I feel like a mom to my gardens! Nurturing and love all the little sprouts! All organic Carrots, cucs, lettuce, peas, green beans, tomatoes, jalapenos, sweet peppers, broccoli, strawberries and pumpkins! yummy yummy!

After all that hARD work we treated ourselves to dinner out and a movie, X-men Origins: Wolverine!! Loved it!! great movie!! the kids liked it too!

Fun stuff this weekend over at the Unity forum on SCS!! May Guest designer challenge was this saturday, post was up May 1st and deadline ended at 7pm tonight! I cant wait to see who they choose as GDT!! SO many great entries!!! Love them all! good luck to all! Your are all my friends and I wish everyone the best!

Here is my card, I was inspired by the colors. I dyed a piece of hemp twine with many ink colors and tied it in a bow around the dress form. The paper calls out with the blues, browns, yellows and greens! Pink was a dominant color in the yarn so that is my card base.

SO when i read New moon for the first time Jacob was not my cup of tea but thats because I love Edward! But jacob was a wonderful friend and he was there for bella! I relate because I have a guy friend exactly like Jacob, not hunky and dark but a friend who wanted more since I was 12 years old. I keep in touch with him and I miss him when I cant talk to him, but like bella I had love for him as a friend, I wished he was my brother in a way too, keep the link but not have to hold off advances. He was there with me through a lot of my dating history and even now that I am married, he has been my shoulder some of the time, been my biggest supporter. Now he lives far away and it hurts to not be able to hang out. I feel bad about it to this day because I always left his side for the one I loved at the time. Even knowing that he was like my soul mate and knew everything about me, he didnt hurt me, it was sooo easy to be around him but I always went after the stronger love feelings from someone else.
being a Gemini I feel two sides to me constantly and when he was around it helped me stay grounded and not jump around so much, I had my friend, my rock next to me through my dating times.
Very Jacob like he is....and I miss him. I have known him for almost 20 years, it blows my mind sometimes!

Now my husband is my best friend, in the last two months I feel we are 100 percent connected and totally in sync. I love it.

Unity addicts challenge wednesday!!

Happy Earth day!!! Are you loving your earth? I do! I Recycle everything! I went from 5-7 bags of garbage a week 4 years ago down to 2-3 bags a week tops!! I break down all cardboard boxes all mail goes into a paperbag, glass, all my plastic is recycled! I have a HUGE veggie garden! I love being able to do that, I am a step away from having my own compost too! I use ONLY recycled bags, LOVE these! Now you can get them for free at all the local state fairs and county fairs and online for free from some companies! I have sooo many about 20 or so! I love loving the earth!! and It is SO EASY!!

so in honor of this day Maria's challenge was to make a card or whatever you want to represent the Earth. I also used this weeks SCS sketch challenge 225.

I crumpled the kraft cs and then rubbed some chocolate chip ink and glued them onto the dp. I stamped the leaf flower stamp, gosh that makes a perfect patterned paper stamp!!! Love this KOTM!!

I used the dress form from the April KOTM again! love it. I used buttons for the flowers in the sketch, I paper pieced the dress form onto the panel and I added crystal effects to the dress form. I also added rhinestones to the neck of the dress form where the necklace is.

Twilight Tuesday #28 It's wedding time!!!

I'm back with a Twilight Tuesday challenge it feels like it has been forever and I truley appologize! I miss the ladies over at Twilight tuesday!! big hugs fellow Twilight Lovers!! and I am actually posting on Tuesday even!! :)

Margie has put this challenge to us to make something inspired by the wedding of Bella and Edward!! Here is the post for the challenge, Go make something!!! :)

Everyone should have a wedding like this, gorgeous place and the love of your eternity by your side...ahhh I love this part of the book.

Here is my card, I just kind of did my own thing I made a cake. I used papers and layered and rounded the edges, this paper has felt and I covered the white areas of the paper with crystal effects. it is shiny. I dyed some hemp twine with riding hood red ink and added stickles for the trim of the cake.

i LOVE my April Unity KOTM!!!!!

....after this accidently got sent to my MIL's house I finally got my April KOTM from Unity!!!

So I inked it up right away! and here is what I made! This card is just for fun!!

I used the dress form and stamped in basic black and paper pieced the top with BG cupcake dp. I covered this with crystal effects to be shiny and raised. I layered on more of the same dp and used Kraft cs. I also used the Shine sentiment from the apr KOTM and used buckeroo blue and stamped onto the kraft. a blue button finished this card off.

and I LOVE rub ons! :) I bought some really fun ones from SU. They are the Bright Delights and they are colored! I started out with Whisper White cs and used the block edges from the Bright delights rub ons around the sides of the card, then I used some yummy Offbeat BasicGrey paper! I added ribbon that I won from Twilight Tuesday. More rub ons are used for the center panel, the tree and sentiment are rub ons. I layered this panel on chocolate chip cs. The button is from my stash and I added another rub on to the button! Crazy! I love this card I hope you do too!

Unity Addicts Wednesday!!

Long time no see everyone!! hi!

It is wednesday! Unity addicts time! The challenge is to make something not a card! Ooo tough one. I made a lollipop flower. I used Unity stamps of course and some BasicGrey dp and SU cs.

I distressed my layers with my scissors and I pinched the sides to make it bent around the edges. I added a brad to hold them all together and used a lollipop stick and wrapped riding hood red ribbon around the stick and added a little wild wasabi ribbon bit for leaves. Hope you ladies like this!

Hip Hop thursday!!

Good Morning, do you have a nice cup of coffee? well good Unity has a whole list of ladies who love hip hoppin, love making stuff, and LOVE UNITY!! woo hoo sounds fun to me!! thats why I have been hip hopping since late july 08!! I really really love Unity!! GUess what too Unity celebrates its one year anniversary in May!! All sorts of fun things are going to be happening I guess!! I will be there!!

Yesterday the theme was babies!! Cute bundles of baby stamps in a bunch, free shipping till sunday, new things happening there at Unity!! Check it out!!! We had fun yesterday most of us found our baby pictures and posted them as our avatars for SCS! Such cute babies they were! Not to say they arent cute now too!!! ;)

So here is me, I think I was younger than a year. I want to pinch my own cheeks!

Here is a card I made with Unity this morning. I think I have to explain it a bit so it doesnt boggle your mind, I started thinking of a birthday card for my daughter for November, she will be five then and the numbers from the March KOTM would be perfect so I stamped those and circled the five, I layered the papers distressed, and added the day to remember sentiment, then I was going to use the butterfly from the Feb KOTM then I changed my mind and used the birds instead to represent the four people in our family. Make sense now? :) ok

Update for my health, I do have graves disease, my doctor wants to treat me medically right now, sounds like I will be back a lot to the endocrinologist. My thyroid is overactive, 2-3 times the normal size of the thyroid. Producing 6 times the amount of hormones I should be. The medicine I was on will be continued, just a higher dose. I am hoping this will work. I could do the radioactive iodine treatment but it puts my children at risk and has a potential to cause hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid. I think I will stay on the meds for now, I hope they work faster now at a higher dose. Thanks for all the hugs and support and the knowledge that this happens and everyone ends up fine! Big hugs to you all!

Another sad note today is the 8th year my dad has been gone and passed... I knew him for three years of his short 45 year life. He was such a kind man and I loved him with all my heart since the day I knew him. I miss him dearly.

Distressed flower for Unity addicts wednesday!!

Good morning all!

Its wednesday and another Unity addicts challenge. The challenge was from Maria and the inspiration was the blog hop blinkie from saturday!! woo hoo! Love these colors and the design!

Here is my card, I used BasicGrey dp for circles for the distressed flower, I piled them all up and slapped a brad on there and voila! I "aged" the whisper white cs by sponging creamy caramel, chocolate chip and river rock ink on the edges and used a black marker to add faux stitches.
