Unity Addicts Wednesday!!

Long time no see everyone!! hi!

It is wednesday! Unity addicts time! The challenge is to make something not a card! Ooo tough one. I made a lollipop flower. I used Unity stamps of course and some BasicGrey dp and SU cs.

I distressed my layers with my scissors and I pinched the sides to make it bent around the edges. I added a brad to hold them all together and used a lollipop stick and wrapped riding hood red ribbon around the stick and added a little wild wasabi ribbon bit for leaves. Hope you ladies like this!

Hip Hop thursday!!

Good Morning, do you have a nice cup of coffee? well good Unity has a whole list of ladies who love hip hoppin, love making stuff, and LOVE UNITY!! woo hoo sounds fun to me!! thats why I have been hip hopping since late july 08!! I really really love Unity!! GUess what too Unity celebrates its one year anniversary in May!! All sorts of fun things are going to be happening I guess!! I will be there!!

Yesterday the theme was babies!! Cute bundles of baby stamps in a bunch, free shipping till sunday, new things happening there at Unity!! Check it out!!! We had fun yesterday most of us found our baby pictures and posted them as our avatars for SCS! Such cute babies they were! Not to say they arent cute now too!!! ;)

So here is me, I think I was younger than a year. I want to pinch my own cheeks!

Here is a card I made with Unity this morning. I think I have to explain it a bit so it doesnt boggle your mind, I started thinking of a birthday card for my daughter for November, she will be five then and the numbers from the March KOTM would be perfect so I stamped those and circled the five, I layered the papers distressed, and added the day to remember sentiment, then I was going to use the butterfly from the Feb KOTM then I changed my mind and used the birds instead to represent the four people in our family. Make sense now? :) ok

Update for my health, I do have graves disease, my doctor wants to treat me medically right now, sounds like I will be back a lot to the endocrinologist. My thyroid is overactive, 2-3 times the normal size of the thyroid. Producing 6 times the amount of hormones I should be. The medicine I was on will be continued, just a higher dose. I am hoping this will work. I could do the radioactive iodine treatment but it puts my children at risk and has a potential to cause hypothyroidism, an underactive thyroid. I think I will stay on the meds for now, I hope they work faster now at a higher dose. Thanks for all the hugs and support and the knowledge that this happens and everyone ends up fine! Big hugs to you all!

Another sad note today is the 8th year my dad has been gone and passed... I knew him for three years of his short 45 year life. He was such a kind man and I loved him with all my heart since the day I knew him. I miss him dearly.

Distressed flower for Unity addicts wednesday!!

Good morning all!

Its wednesday and another Unity addicts challenge. The challenge was from Maria and the inspiration was the blog hop blinkie from saturday!! woo hoo! Love these colors and the design!

Here is my card, I used BasicGrey dp for circles for the distressed flower, I piled them all up and slapped a brad on there and voila! I "aged" the whisper white cs by sponging creamy caramel, chocolate chip and river rock ink on the edges and used a black marker to add faux stitches.

A little side note I left hip hop last night because I was swelling in my ankles and feet and so I went to the ER. They said because my heart isnt beating right because it is too fast the fluids were going to my legs and down. They ran some more tests and got ahold of a endocrinologist that gave me a temporary medication to lessen the hormones coming out of my thyroid. So I hope they work for now. Sorry I missed the rest of hip hop! thanks for sticking with me through this journey!

Thanks for the support through this last week!

Hi All!
My doctor confirmed my fears, I do have hyperthyroidism. My thyroid is over active. My symptoms have not been relieved yet and I am waiting for an appointment with a specialist in endocrinology. I appreciate SO much all the well wishes and hugs! I know I will get better and get over these tough times. I dont like taking meds but I know these will help me feel better day to day, because right now I feel horrible.
I will keep updating everyone, thanks for following me on this journey.

Sorry I have been MIA again, I went to the doctor friday and I have a swollen thyroid, I have been suffering from shakes, headaches, stomach issues and the last couple weeks I have had a steady heart beat over 110 beats a minute. I dont have the test results back yet and I have been scouring the internet for some answers and the symptoms fit Graves disease... I am hoping deep down that all the syptoms are unrelated and it is just an infection or something. I will call the dr tomorrow for the results and probably head right back to the dr. Any movement makes me out of breathe and my heart to race faster.

Here are my clean and simple cards, I made these tonight and was in the quick and easy mode.

This card features the March Kit Of The Month, KOTM as we like to call it! 29$ including shipping gets you ALL these amazing stamps!! Perfect way to start out your Unity obession! 31 stamps total in this month's Kit!!! Gorgeous kit! I stamped the silhouette stamp in versamark and blue bayou ink and embossed with clear embossing powder (can you tell i just got my first jar of clear EP, I have been using it on every card almost). I used the thanks stamp from this kit also and same technique, embossed. Very CAS!

My Growing In Unity Week!!! Day 2!!

Well step right up my friends to the pub and have a green beer on me!! It's St. Patty's Day!!! Woo Hoo, to all my fellow Irish friends and not Irish friends Top O' the mornin to ya!

In recognition of this glorious day I used Green, I have a card to share and a small box to fill with good 'ol lucky charms for my day 2 post!!

My card features Argyle heart from Unity stamped in garden green on kraft cs and embossed with clear embossing powder over all the hearts. The "enjoy" sentiment fit to me with the theme of St. Patty's day, Drinking! I stamped in basic black and also embossed. I layered this panel onto 7 gypsies dp and then onto whisper white cs. I added BasicGrey brads in all four corners and the middle. I love this technique, Joanne is the only person I have seen do this and I loved it right away!! Thanks Joanne again for the inspiration!

Next up is a little box, I used the Origami fold technique for making the bottom and top of this box. I used Basicgrey cupcake dp for the bottom and 7 gypsies dp for the top of the box. I stamped "happy birthday" in riding hood red ink from the awesome new set birthday chic, I love this set!! The present is also from this set and I embossed with clear embossing powder. I added a gold clip and some riding hood red ribbon. You could fill this with all sorts of goodies!

I only had a chance to one hip hop challenge card :( it was a hectic day but I am soooo glad I got to hip hop and visit with the greatest gals ever!!

Twilight Tuesday #22

Hi all!! Twilight Tuesday is here once again!! Number 22! rebecca gave us the challenge today and it is all about Bella's birthday party, you know the one where Jasper almost ate her? :) Good fun! I love Stephenie meyer's descriptive explanation of Alice's decorations! I love pink!!

"We were pulling up to the house now. Bright light shined from every window on the first two floors. A long line of glowing Japanese lanterns hung from the porch eaves, reflecting a soft radiance on the huge cedars that surrounded the house. Big bowls of flowers - pink roses - lined the wide stairs up to the front doors.
They were all waiting in the huge white living room; when I walked through the door, they greeted me with a loud chorus of "Happy Birthday, Bella!" while I blushed and looked down. Here is the challenge straight from Rebecca, "New Moon opens with Bella's 18th birthday and Alice is in full party mode. Most people dread turning 30 or 40, but Bella dreaded turning 18 - mostly since that meant she was "older" than Edward. For the Cullens, they were excited - the last birthday they had ever "celebrated" was Emmett's many decades earlier.

My card is pink and silver (thanks for the dp Margie!) and I used rhinestones for the crystal flower holders and my sentiment says "Endings&beginnings cherish every moment". For bella to me it seemed very much the ending of her mortal life, she was already in the plans to make her life immortal and join edward forever, and the beginning of a new wonderful life. Her birthday ended in disaster that night and in turn caused Edward to leave (New moon was a hard book to get through the first time) but this horrible time helped Edward to fight his urges to eat Bella!

I always wished I had a closer relationship with my mother, i hope to be a fun, hip mom when my girls get bigger! I love how renee and bella share things a bit and seem to be closer in age than reality. I can see bellas view from being the one in charge, being myself a much older sibling I have a protective stance on my siblings and want to take care of them whenever I can.

Craft Portion: Create a Twilight project dedicate to “The Mom” in your life!

I created this card because the girls night out seems like something that might have happened alot before bella moved to Forks. Renee seems fun and someone who likes to party, but a good party that bella could have fun at too!

Monday Mojo#76...

Good Morning!

It has been forever since making a card! Goodness!

Well I had some time last night to myself and needed some crafting time!

I played along with the Monday Mojo challenge this week, sorry still no verve stamps but of course used my trusty Unity stamps!

I love the color combo I used, Chocolate chip, baja breeze and whisper white, so Yummy! I only have 9 cardstock colors and most of the colors I have go well with each other...I need more colors!! :)

Sorry I have been out of the blogging loop!
My sister and her awesome one year old son are living with us now so life is fun and hectic!
