Hoppin with the Bombshell Hotties!!

BombshellStamps.com

October is in full effect!! I didn't think I could make it waiting any longer for this month to come! I am Ms. October...I think maybe I can say that a few more times ;) LOVE shannon and ALL the girls at Bombshell Stamps! The Bombshells too! I so love that period of time in our US history..Love the art, ads and styles.
Every wednesday the Hotties blog hop for Bombshell Stamps! I am super honored to be in this group of girls for a month, they are all fabulous!

This month I put out the October Challenge, that is to make something using Halloween colors; Orange, Green, Black and Purple if you wish!

I have a card using the Pirate's Life set, I used the parrot and small embellishment stamps (Bomb, skull and crossbones and the north star stamp) I used the small staps in a pattern for my background kiwi kiss panel. The dp I used is Eerie from BasicGrey, love those papers! I colored the parrot with colored pencils and goo be gone to blend. I added orange stitched ribbon in my Twist and smoosh technique and also black brads. I followed the MOJO Monday 107 sketch.

Stamps Used: Pirate's Life-Bombshell Stamps

Paper Used: Eerie-BasicGrey, white cs-GP, kiwi kiss-SU plum pudding-PTI

Ink Used: Versafine onyx black, more mustard mellow moss and chocolate chip-SU

Accessories Used: Black brads, orange stitched ribbon, colored pencils, goo be gone for blending the pencils, pop dots, sticky tape

Here is a close up of the blending on the Parrot.

Make sure you continue on the hop to see the other gals!! I KNOW they have AMAZING things in store for you!!

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #49 Home is where the heart is!

Welcome to Tuesday! and Twilight Tuesday at that!
Sorry this post is a little late...

The sweet and kind Erica has given us this challenge this week! Great challenge hun!
"Throughout the series Bella discusses a lot of homes. She spends a lot of time at home, maybe not her home, but if the saying is true, it is home to her."
Craft challenge is pretty simple: Make a craft based on either a home discussed in the series or what means home to you.

Here are some of the houses discussed in the book…
Charlie’s house: unchanged since Renee moved out. I always remember her discussing the yellow cabinets in the kitchen. Kind of small, a sort of bachelor pad with a bit of an outdated woman’s touch.
Renee’s homes
The Cullen’s house: Giant windows, open, white, three stories, a mix of modern and classic.
The house on Isel Esme
Edward and Bella’s cottage: my personal favorite, small, a mix of styles, stone floors, small garden, fireplace, think Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
and of course you can’t forget Emily Young’s house with the flower boxes and something always cooking
Billy Black’s small but welcoming home.

Comment portion: If you could build your dream home, what would it be like?
I was thinking house right away and I was going to use my cute There She Goes Home is where the heart is stamp set, I colored the house and just didnt feel it... I was looking for paper when I found this Sugar Nellie image RAK'd to me and I thought Ah Ha, this is what I will use! She looks so much like my daughter, just adorable. I colored her with copics and used Earth Love Cosmo Cricket paper to compliment her colors. I also took Mercys Tuesday sketch # 42 and changed the dimensions a bit.

My kids make my house a home for me...I get the warm fuzzies when I think how they have blessed my life and have made me whole, when the world gets tough I look to them and see their beautiful smiles and warm hugs and all is okay.
Stamps Used: Home is where the heart is-There She Goes, sugar nellie
Paper Used: Earth Love-Cosmo Cricket, White cs-GP, chocolate chip, groovy guava cs-SU
Ink Used: memento, versafine onyx black, more mustard, close to cocoa-SU
Accessories Used: Copics, copper brads, scalloped edge punch-SU

Twilight Tuesday Inspiration Challenge #48 Bond Between Brothers and Moxie Fab post

Welcome to my Twilight tuesday challenge post! This week it was my turn to decide the challenge topic, I chose to focus on the brotherhoods we see in New Moon~

Craft Portion: Make something that refects brotherhood… Be inspired by the wolf pack, Edward and Jasper/Emmitt, even the relationship between Bella and Jacob. Make a scrapbook page, a card for your brother or maybe a book for that special guy in your life. Celebrate brothers in any way you would like. (this would be a good chance to find those awesome pictures of the New Moon Wolfpack)
Comment Portion: Talk about the brotherhood in your life… Do you have an amazing brother that has been there for you thick and thin? Do you have the best guy friends that have your back when times get rough?

Here is my project... To me this is a good gender neutral card. I used Unity Sept 09 KOM and dp from the new Earth Love Cosmo Cricket line. I saw the sketch for this card at Mercys Tuesday Sketches. MTSC41. I inked all the edges, i just cant stop myself from doing that! I LOVE this paper!
Stamps Used: Sept 09 KOM-Unity Stamp Company
Paper Used: Earth Love-Cosmo Cricket, white cs-GP, Bazzill basics cs
Ink Used: mellow moss, chocolate chip-SU
Accessories Used: Scalloped edge punch-SU

To talk a bit about the value of brothers I have always been friends with guys, they had my back and I was more comfortable around them. I had many adventures and had lots of fun..It was an important part for getting older, I am glad for all those friendships I had. I know at least one of them would back me up still no matter what. For my brothers, one I wish I knew and one who is much younger than me but I love him dearly and we used to be best buds when he was little. I hope one day again we will have that bond again!

Please make sure to show the Twilight Tuesday Design Team some LOVE!

I hope you have fun with this Twilight Tuesday challenge!! Thanks for your patience that this is late up, My son went home sick yesterday from school and this morning he woke up with many more sick symptoms...not a happy guy to say the least. Seems a trip to the doctor might be in order. :(

This is also a card entry for the Moxie Fab Gradiant challenge! The dp varies in colors and seems to get darker towards the bottom! I really love this paper!!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!!

You're A Rockstar!!!

Happy Monday to you all! As you can see I changed my blog to a 3 column blog last night...I am still getting everything worked out so if things look a little wonky you know why! :D
As I was checkin out my google reader today I saw this challenge site, Crazy 4 challenges! This is an AMAZING group of women...ALL so talented and of course well known too!
I decided to play along with their last challenge from Saturday, C4C4, it is a great sketch! I got inking my new Verve set from my Mojo win....if anyone gets sick of me saying I won let me know! ;) I think I will be excited into next year about that one!! LOL! So anyways I picked Starstruck, this set has so many great stamps!
I took the 2 small stars and put them on my Unity A Handle next to each other and used these to stamp the purple panel as a background. I took the 2 larger stars and used that pattern for the pink strip. The larger star is stamped in versamark on the pink panel, sentiment is stamped in versafine onyx black and embossed with a new Zing embossing powder I picked up, it has a glitter finish. The smaller star was stamped, colored with Shimmerz blingz (hottie pink and pink poinsettia), cut out and covered with crystal effects. Very fun card for me!
Stamps Used: Starstruck-Verve Stamps
Paper Used: White cs-GP, chablis-Bazzill basics, pink pirouette-SU, plum pudding-PTI
Ink Used: Versafine onyx black, versamark, pretty in pink and perfect plum-SU
Accessories Used: Crystal effect-SU, pink poinsettia and hottie pink shimmerz blingz, Zing embossing powder-American Crafts

Thanks for stopping by today!!
I have another busy blogging week so stay tuned!!

TTSVC5!! Sam Merlotte!

Twilight Tuesday Sookie Stackhouse Challenge day!!

Here is our challenge...

"For the September edition of the Sookie/Southern Vampire Challenge (TTSVC5), we are going to ponder on the character of Sam Merlotte. Sam is such an interesting character – he is kind of like Sookie’s Jacob, in that he loves her unrequitedly, but purely. And for all the right reasons. He is her friend, her protector while Bill sleeps, her confidant – someone she trusts and adores. But, Sam, as we know, is also a rare, pure Shifter ~ he can be anything he chooses to be! (How awesome would THAT be?) Being Sam, the unassuming, gentle guy he is, his shift of choice is an equally gentle and unassuming Collie Sookie calls, Dean. It is hard to not root for Sam, even though we know Sookie just isn’t into him the way he would like. We love him, and want him to be happy. Do you agree?

PS~ For this challenge, I’ll allow that we can draw off of book Sam or True Blood Sam. They are very similar, and we want to hear from as many people as want to offer opinions!"

So… for this challenge, I offer two suggetions:

1) If you were a pure Shifter, as Sam is what would your shift of choice be and why. Create a project that captures your “inner shifter”. Tell us why!

OR… 2) Create a project that captures the essence and aura that IS Sam. Explain your thoughts and tell us your feelings about the character.

I created this card for the challenge! I used the Wolf stamp from Artful INKables...It could be a border collie from True Blood, right?? Well anyways I tried! I colored him brown and white and sponged around the edges. I used marrakech BG paper. Bazzill brown and green for the squares. All words and sentiment are From Beth's Otherwordly Loves!!! Available at Tonya's Stamp Happens shop!!!

Stamps Used: Into the Moonlight-Artful INKAbles, Otherwordly Loves- Stamp Insanity Stamps Paper Used: White cs-GP, Brown and green cs-Bazzill, Marrakech dp-BasicGrey Ink Used: Versafin onyx black, mellow moss, creamy caramel-SU Accessories Used: 1 3/8ths circle punch-SU, sponge

Shimmerz Blingz Review...
For stamp happens the Sistahs reviewed Shimmerz Blingz! I received Hottie Pink Blingz. I used it to color in this Gel-A-Tins Butterfly. I also used pink poinsettia blingz to color the outside wings. I posted a review on the Stamp Happens Store site.
Here is what I wrote... "Hottie Pink is an awesome color! The shimmer is perfect for any project. It works well with cardstock, flowers and chipboard. Application is easy with just any kind of brush, goes on smooth and dries almost immeditely. Hottie Pink is one of the darker colors of Blingz and you can layer more or lighten the color with just a clean brush. It goes perfectly with many of the other Shimmerz for a great effect. This is one of my favorite colors!!
Date Added: 09/10/2009 by Jacqueline Nordaune"

You can get this color and many more at Tonya's Store Stamp Happens!! Great prices and fast shipping!
Thanks for stopping by today! Remember to come back to see the sistahs projects using Stamp Insanity Stamps!!

TTIC #47 The Backstory of Alice Cullen

Welcome to another Tuesday! Twilight Tuesday no less!
This week Julie has given us our challenge, it is to make something based on Alice's backstory.

"Our theme is specifically about Alice’s past, before she met the Cullen family and was known as Mary Alice Brandon. We don’t know too many details about Alice’s life before the events of the Twilight saga occur, but if you would like a refresher on her past, visit the Twilight Saga Wiki here and read!

The craft portion is to depict an aspect of Alice’s history. You can take your inspiration from what we know from the actual Stephenie Meyer text, or you can use your imagination to depict something that could have happened in Alice’s past.

The comment portion – talk a bit about Alice’s gift. Would you like to possess her ability to see the future? Do you think that that would be a blessing or a curse?"

She comes from Biloxi Mississippi and as I was talking to Donna the brainstorming happened, i chose to go Southern Vintage feel to it.
I used the Details stamp from Unity Stamp Company and I wrote the details myself. The base is dark chocolate, spring moss and Sultry dp from BasicGrey.I distressed all the edges. Lace is from some old curtains! Chipboard is from an old christmas set from Me and My Big Ideas. I sponged everything with river rock and chocolate chip ink. I also Used the TTSC #11!!

Stamps Used: Details-Unity Stamp Company
Papers Used: Sultry dp-BasicGrey, white cs, dark chocolate, spring moss-PTI
Ink uSed:Chocolate chip , river rock-SU
Acessories USed: some old lace, chipboard, sponge, black sharpie

A Moxie Fab, Mojo-rific, paper buttons post!!

Happy Monday to you!!

I decided to jumble a BUNCH of challenges together today!! I have had a hankering to make a card and Oh boy did I make one!!

I am NOT going to tell you how long this took me or how many times I redid a few things on this card.... (OK a LOT) :D

First things First I am cutting it close to the Moxie Fab Around the House challenge Deadline!! Oops! I really wanted to play along this time! I LOVE moxie Fab and am a quiet follower...everyone who plays along and is featured is so talented! I really dont put myself up there at that caliber but it was a blast to push myself to make something good!

I used the Mojo Monday 105 sketch! It gave me a great challenge, that triangle is a toughy!

Third I used the SplitcoastStampers TLC239 challenge to make paper buttons! This was so cool and fit great with the mojo sketch! I punched out 6 pieces of cardstock including the patterned paper and glued them together and coated the top with crystal effect! cool! The coffee cup is also cover in crystal effects. I used black ribbon and I sewed this on by hand! woo hoo! The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company, the coffee cup is from the September KOM and the sentiment is from the May KOM. Paper is Wisteria dp from BasicGrey.

Stamps Used: September 09 KOM, May 09 KOM
Paper Used: White cs, dark chocolate-PTI Wisteria dp-BasicGrey
Ink Used: Chocolate chip, river rock-SU
Accessories Used: Crystal effects, hemp twine-SU, sponge for ink, black ribbon, needle and thread

I hope you have enjoyed this card and thanks so much for stopping by!!
Have a great day!

First Ever Twilight Tuesday Black Dagger Brotherhood Challenge!!

Welcome to the First ever Twilight tuesday Black Dagger Brotherhood challenge!! Dark Lover is the First book of this series and it is the story of Wrath! My Favorite Vamp Brother!
From Beth, "I am excited to offer up the first Black Dagger Brotherhood challenge. As I mentioned before, after I recommended this series in the BITES forum, we quickly got a passionate following. And, really, this series has *the* most passionate fans I have ever seen! Our debut challenge will be simple and based upon the first book, Dark Lover, the story of Wrath, the reluctant king of the Race. Until you have the opportunity to read this first novel, please enjoy the challenge and the artwork of our faithful readers!

Theme: Dark Lover. This is the first book in the very unique and intense series of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, by JR Ward.
Dark Lover tells the story of Wrath, reluctant king of vampire race.
Challenge: Create a project that captures the essence of Dark Lover – be it Wrath, or the Brotherhood in general, as this is our introduction to their world in modern-day Caldwell, NY. Explain what it is about the series that ‘grabs’ you ~ since the vast majority of the BDB fans are fiercely passionate about their Brothers!

I really love Wrath! I always think of his dark personality and how strongly he felt for Beth.. Such a great story! He is mostly Blind but his eyes are a beautiful blue green color like the oceans. I tried to find the color blue that would fit. and Wrath is VERY much a REAL man and he has fangs....and he isnt afraid to use them...

Stamps Used: Otherwordly Loves- Stamp Insanity Stamps
Papers Used: dp-BasicGrey, white cs
Ink Used: versafine onyx black
Accessories Used: silver brads
